hi just in the process of putting a vs v6 into a vr calais. the vs has a manual gearbox so all this is swapping to the calais as well. its all installed at the moment, but the engine wont start. ive used the vs engine computer and loom, but am using the vr calais BCM. is there any way to get the car to work without sending off the whole computer to be reprogrammed to suit the vr BCM? the engine cranks but just has no spark. thanks in advance
each cars bcm and pcm are "linked" they will not operate in another car if one detects that the other is not there. so you cannot use the pcm from the vs in the vr because the vr's bcm is not detecting the vr's pcm (u follow? lol) you can however get around this by having the security "link" between the two disabled. most tuners should be able to do this with their software they use. another option is to use the vs bcm and have the keys for the vr reprogrammed
