Hey guys,
The law for P platers and 'High Powered' Vehicles in Victoria is either no more than 125kW per tonne and an engine capacity of no more than 3.5ltrs per tonne. This brings me to my question, how much does a 1996 VS II Executive V8 weigh?? The power of it is roughly 168fwkW... Plus i have also heard that the VR-VS V8's are illegal on your P's anyway, anyone got an answer on this?? Remember this is VICTORIAN law....

Thanks

Check out http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrpdf/rdsafe/restrictedvehiclesoldermodelspre2004.pdf it's all there. BTW - VS is on there. It is listed as 185kw (which is what I thought they were) and the VP is also there as 165kw. Vicroads will take the manufacturers published KW and capacity figures. I think you would have a very difficult time convincing them otherwise.

hmm, thats not right...there was never a vr exec stroker.
all exec v8's from vn-vr are 165kw and 385Nm@3600
the vs has 168kw and 395Nm@3600.
then there are the hsv v8's, where the vs clubby has 185kw and 400Nm@3600 ....the vs senator with optional stroker has 215kw and 475Nm@3600 and hsv enhanced statesmans have 180kw and 410Nm@3600 for the vq... and 185kw and 400Nm@3600 for both vr an vs, both also having the 5.7L stroker option.
for exec models, the vs is about 1500kg, vr 1430kg, vp 1380kg and vn 1400 (these are for the v8's)
