Installed a new hub today on my clubsport. Had to remove the strut to get to Allen key bolt. the strut and spring needs to be compressed. My question is should I remove the whole thing from the car? Then use spring compressor then re-install or leave strut in vehicle? Any help would be great

Dunno about compressing the spring - I didn't need to on my VS with FE2 susp - just turned the steering wheel to allow access to each stud - pretty easy.

All sorted, all I did was remove one bolt from sway bar, this allowed the lower arm to drop right down so the strut could be remounted at its base. I'm back on the road and all is very smooth indeed:beer chug:

That strut wont last very long with all the dirt and moisture etc that will be getting into it through the broken boot.

As Brett_jjj says, you should have taken the opportunity to remove the strut and replace the dust boot while you had the rotor and caliper off.
