G'day all, had a fuel pump replaced recently on a vs v6 wagon.Now when fuel level is below 3/4 and car is parked on uneven surface (eg) pointing down hill or slanted to the side,it wont start.Turns over but doent seem to pick up fuel.If I push it onto level ground it starts ok.Anyone got any ideas what the problem is ? Its driving me crazy.Thanks Dave.
It sounds like the fuel return line has dislodged in the tank when you put the new pump in and no fuel will be getting to the swirl pot. I gather you replaced the pump without taking the tank out...
Thanks for the reply wavez,had the pump changed by a mechanic he doesnt want to know about it now.I'll have a go at it my self.Should be able to find how to with a JC forum search. thanks again. Dave.
