My auto v6 VS has just developed a very noticeable vibration just when it's about to change up a gear. Once in gear it seems fine, it just seems to have a bit of a struggle making the change. For anyone who's cycled, it's kind of like a loose gear cable where the chain won't hop up to the next cog. Is there some sort of equivalent in auto gearboxes or is there some other likely cause?

I checked the transmission fluid last week and it isn't low, if anything it appears too high (could this cause problems?)

Fingers crossed the replies won't say anything along the lines of "open your wallet REALLY wide and replace a, b and c" as this car is driving me broke as it is!

I'm gonna tell you what ya don't wanna hear. but before you open said wallet, talk to a tranny speciallist, maybe let him test drive so he know exactly what you mean. often they can pinpoint exactly what it is without cracking the box open

Well the fix was fairly easy and turned out to be rather an unusual one, and very cheap as it was paid for in part by bulk billing. Now you're confused aren't you? :)

A friend sat in the car and thought it sounded fine, the engine was maybe a little rough and maybe the wheel balance was out a fraction, but otherwise good. It turns out that I was hearing those noises differently to him thanks to, yes, mucky ears! :embarrass I was getting funny echoes, whooshes etc. in my ears that totally changed how it sounded. A quick trip to the doc's and I was sent to get my ears cleaned out by the nurse. It felt like she was using a high pressure jet wash but it did the trick.

Other than that, a reseat and fiddle with some of the HT leads and wheel rebalance and everythings running pretty good now :) Bet you've never heard of a fix like that though!

the name should have been the first sign

good to hear it was a simple fix. i to have a trans vibration, after getting wheels balanced it was no better so i repalced mounts, center bearings etc and it's still no better, rear cotrol arm bushes helped some, put said balanced wheels on another car and there bloody terrible:bang: gonna get another balance job done else where this time
