can the head-rests from the front seats be removed??

i've pulled them out to its full height but i cant seem to get them fully off the seat, i have'nt started yanking them out or anything yet

is there like a clip or button somewhere that'll relase the head-rests?

yeah there usually is... around the base of the head rest where the 2 metal arms go in, there'll be a clip you just squeeze in then pull up (gently) on the headrest and it'll release. No need for force, it'll just come out.

no, there's no easy way to take the head rests off. from memory the locking device that holds the head rests in place is located inside the trim of the seat so you cant actually get to it....without destroying the seat.

..ahh fudge, i kinda figured. not to worry to much then, im going to be installing screens within the head-rests so i'll just work on them while they're still on the seat.

I thought there was a clip there because we have to take off the back ones all the time in a VS Berlina Station Wagon to put the seats down. The clip they *used* to use on front seats is certainly there on the back seats of Berlina wagons now.

The Exec Wagons didn't have head rests on the back seat nor does it have the mounts to put them in. I always thought they fronts would just come off the same, but come to think of it, I've never looked at my front ones yet.

I'm gonna go and check right now. Ok sircruisealotVS is right :S and there's nothing you can feel around into the seat itself to unclip it either. The clip doesn't seem to be just under the surface of the cloth. Makes ya just wanna rip em out hey.

sorry mate i think you will have to work on them in the car. i tried to ages one day to get them off with no result. As the others have said the seats have to be operated on to get the head rests off

Holden must've known those fancy lcd ones aftermarket head rests weren't too far away and decided to put a massive stop to us upgrading our headrests!

The VS Berlina Wagons the rear seats have these removable headrests which is a bit silly if you were stick them in the rear seat of a wagon.

See a lot of taxi's down the goldcoast now with these LCD headrests. Since when did Yellow Cabs watch Pimp my Ride? :p
