My VS heater sometime works and sometimes does not.
When workin it works perfect and all fan speeds work well.

It is a vacationer so just a basic heater (no climate controle)

When it dosen't work nothing works.

There also seems to be a link with the rear heated demister, because when the heater is working properly and I hit the rear demister button, the heater fully cuts out!!!! (including the rear demister) weird. and about 10 minutes later after turning off the rear demister the heater will start to work again.

Also sometimes everything works perfect , Heater and rear demister.
But definately if the rear demister is working, the heater always works.

Now that should have confused everyone, but any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. I need a reliable heater and rear dmister ITS COLD.

Nick.

Try changing the fuse as maybe its not making proper contact. Not sure if there is a relay under the bonnet for the heater fan as well. As a last guess it may be the resistor block failing - this will kill all power to the heater. Good Luck.

The 'ignition relay' next to the fuse block inside the car (under the steering column) runs both the interior fan and demister. A relay would cause this intermittent problem.
