Vs Ignition swap

Gday guys,
Im new, i have a vs commodore that the switch has snapped in the back. I have a new barrell and switch just need to know how to code the immobiliser to the barrell. Otherwise if i get the ecu? bcm? and barrell and switch with key will that work. Thanks heaps i am stuck without it and have access to all the parts for nothing. Cheers Chris

Or the black ring (which is the immobiliser?) clips off can i just put that on the new barrell?

you need the bcm to match the remote. or you can change the key head of the new key into your original remote.
