So some awesome news.
I just bought this engine..
From a young bloke on the tweed, he just built this extremely tidy L67 engine, ran it in for 1000 k's took it back to the shop that built it, (that does marine race engines) and got the cometic head gaskets fitted, it had the standard head gaskets on it to run it in.
Then drove it for 500 k's, and then his brother decided to offer him a Blown LS1 at very brotherly rates.. he couldn't pass that up. and I ended up grabbing this engine for pretty much brotherly rates also.. The engine shop charged him 8K for the work etc.
Plus it's got fresh heads on it, with upgraded valve springs.
Also it comes with a ported to suit W2A inlet manifold.
Also
My W2A arrived.
So I just need to find the longer bolts to suit.
I'll phone mace tomorrow and see if they have some in stock.
I need the same bolts that hold the blower down, just 50 mill longer.
Going to get the engine fitted by a mechanic, then I'll fit the W2A ourselves..
Then at least we can drive it and have fun in it, while I figure out the best people to take the turbo from the other ute to fit to this one..
The engine was built for boost, so perfect for compound project etc.
That being said, I don't want to run too much boost, trying to build it for reliability this time LOL
I'd be extremely happy with 350 (maybe 400) rwhp and reliable, which I think is pretty achievable with two blowers and IC's on E85
