vs level 2 cluster

hi boys my mate has just replaced his level 1 cluster with a level 2 cluster in his vs ute and the tacho doesn't work ???
Any ideas

Pull the cluster apart. Look at the circuit board behind the fascia and check for dry solder joints.

the dash came out of another vs and was working in that

Well it sounds like your rpm signal wire may be damaged.
