What happens if you accidently put a manual computer into an auto. Mine ran for about 20 seconds roughly I turned it off as I noticed had wrong computer in. Swapped with auto, now has spark but wont run. What damage have I done? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think it should cause any issues. There are slight differences in the tune and on the board for the different transmission speed sensor but otherwise auto and manual are identical.

If you haven't disconnected the battery to clear any logged codes, then try the disconnect. Then try to restart it.

Not in a VS. The ecu doesn't care what BCM it has connected as long as it gets the correct signal.

A kick back will happen if you have a pair of plug leads crossed over. If you had them unplugged check them again.

Messing with the PCM can make VATS kick in, it happened to me. It normally occurs if the battery or engine fuse is not disconnected when swapping memcals and or PCM's.

Hmm maybe I put vr 185i memcal in vs 304 to see if it would run or go better compared to stock 165 memcal but instead got anti-theft signal/fault....was 20yrs ago

Although read somewhere vats somehow different from vr to vs or it's in tune *shrugs*
