vs overheating

hey guys i have a 95 vs exec
and its been overheating like crazy i suspect a blown head gasket or a cooling system issue
so i used irontite a cooling system sealer
and im thinking of using chemiweld as well for the gasket
so was just wondering anyone else have any other ideas on what would be best ?

Have put Chemiweld in 2 different commodores. Both experienced water pump failure within a few months after.

**** that doesnt sound too good any thing else or just get a new gasket machine the head and do all that?

Why are you sure that you have a failed head gasket?......overheating can be caused by many other reasons also head gaskets rarely fail in Commodores unless they are cooked.

vt v6, mods(susp brakesetc...)
does it leak anywhere? fix leaks and flush it
does fans work
radiator cap seal rubbery and not cracked
milk in your oil or milk in your coolant = head gasket
top and bottom radiator hose hot to touch when coolant hot/ gauge halfwayish = if no either vlocked radiator or failed water pump NOTE failed pump on these get tight ass and notchy so take belt off and spin pump to check for free movement and not difficult to turn..

overheating as in the gauge goes into red is normally present with another fault
like loss of coolant or blockages or eroded water pump blah blah blah if you want help
on overheating you need to check these things to get direct help on your fault... pm me if you get stuck...

i just replaced my 96 vs motor 13 days ago cause of same problem as u for me it was cracked cyl head so i put a vt motor in. and when u refull your raditor u must bleed the air out by putting a bottle of water on top of raditor full bottle so water level is higher than thurmostat start car release screw that is on top of thurmostat till water comes out
and your done
also try a new raditor cap that can cause them to over heat
if u are unsure of ur broblem go to raditor shop and get them to do a test cost like $20 they can tell u if u have cracked cyl head or blowen head gasket

What do you do if the bleed screw has corrosion how do you bleed it then?

I'm not sure was just a guess
But I am leaning towards blocked radiator or a failed waterpump
Because the radiator caps fine theres no milk in the coolant or engine oil but the radiator hoses get hot as #### there's no leaks after about 10 minutes of idling the engine touches H and it does run pretty rough so failed water pump u reckon ?
