hey i have a series 3 vs ute and have owned it a couple of months, the ute is lowered and sits on 16 inch wheels, i think its 225/50/16. would the ute pull on crown roads and wonder because of the low profile tyres?? really shits me, and have just had a wheel alignment done
The tyres could have some effect but the other thing to check is the rear suspension panhard rod and suspension arms. Tyre pressure are also a critical factor.
was it doing this before the alignment as well? as hako said, something could be worn or bent front or rear ... a bush, tie rod, arm. Wheel alingment guys should have seen it if it was the front , but don't count on it.
yeah it did do the same thing they said front end looks good and back end, car doesnt pull but when say the road surface is higher than other then the car steering wheel like to pull in.
How low is it ? Also , may be hard to test as most roads slope to the left , but have u noticed if it also pulls to the right on roads that slope the other way ? If it pulls equally left and right it could be the tyres, but if it only pulls one way it sounds more like something is wrong with the steering / suspension.
dunno how low but low enough i suppose. yes it can go left and right on depending on the direction or the road.
A stuffed wheel bearing or two gives you strange feeling of the car wondering especially on an uneven road surface
what do u think well i bought car a couple of months ago passed road worthy no prob, then last week put new rear shocker on it and told em to have good look at front and back end they said it ok, could maybe be bacuse the tyre's are no named **** tires they r like brand new like driven only about 5k.
Its possibly the tyres,I know if you have lower profile tyres and wider rims they do tend to get caught in ruts in the road more easily ,but one other thing to check is your power steering pump if its low on Fluid or pressure ( they can have plenty of fluid and low pressure) it will also cause a feeling of wondering
what tyre pressure are u running now ? Maybe try fitting a set of stock wheels and see if that fixes it , that will narrow it down to either the wheels or the car. If its the wheels, you might need to fit some adjustable strut tops or something like that to give more adjustment to get the wheel alignment right to suit the big wheels n tyres.
