    VS Senator, S2, Manual!
    Hi all,

Had a strange problem creep up on me. I only drive this car on weekends, etc. Maybe once every two weeks.

Last time I drove the car, I noticed when I tramp it whilst its in first gear, the gear shifter seems to move over to the drivers side maybe a few inches. And the car just doesnt feel right, or like its getting full power down.

I have only tried this a few times, and have rarely driven the car since. Strangly enough it only seems to happen in first gear. Weather its because first generates most tourqe, im not sure.

Im starting to think it may be an engine mount, or gearbox mount blow. I have done some tests on the engine, like looking at it whilst reving it, checking for engine jumping around, etc. All seems fine. Anyone had any experience here?

Also, I treat the car like gold. I dont do burnouts, etc. I may give it a bit of a clutch drop on take off from time to time, but thats it. No big burnouts, etc.

Running once every two weeks ain't enough to lubricate parts in the engine, trans and other stuff. But I'm not sure if it cause by non-regular driving. To be on the safe side drive the car a bit more often.

Better to take to a trans specialist to have a look.

Sounds like a gearbox mount broken, or engine mount...maybe both?? Seen the same symptoms in a VS v6 manual, and it had broken gearbox mount
