Vs series 111 5.0L v8 ute

Hi I have purchased a vs spac series 111 5.0L ute. The engine has been replaced with a series 1 motor it has a cam specs unknown. The car is running the series 111 computer and wiring but it has a misfire fire on occasion. Will I need to run a after market computer so this can be tuned?

Do you have any photos or part number of the engine harness and computer that it is running at the moment?

Series I and and III distributors and associated wiring are different. Series I has a single HES (Hall Effect Sensor) for both camshaft and crank sensing. Series III has two separate HESs, one for the camshaft and one for the crankshaft. You don't need an aftermarket computer if you can find someone to tune the existing Delco one.
