    Hi all,
I have a 98 VS Series III Statesman with SC V6. I'm trying to work out if the engine specs etc are the same as a 98 SC V6 in a VT that would have been on the production line at the same time? I know they were basically the same other than perhaps computer programming, 163KW vs about 171KW or so.

Another reason is the Gregory's VS manual doesn't cover Supercharged engines but the VT does, didn't want to fork out another $40 if the details are still not correct for my model.

Another problem I found today was when I went to pick up a simple fuel filter. The listing said VS except SC and VT including SC VT and were two different filters. I haven't looked but would I use a standard VS filter or later VT, it also has IRS being a Statesman if there are clearance issues. Also assume it is above the rear axle, in front of the fuel tank as per previous models, haven't really looked.

    thanks,
    Ben

The VT engine has exhaust gas recirculation but otherwise mechanically the same (parts wise except for the EGR).
The extra kw's obviously come from the computer tune change between the 2 models.
When modded both models end up with similar results, horsepower wise.
