hi, i know the way to change the sump gasket on a vs is to either drop the k frame or remove engin, has anyone done it without removing teh k frame or engine?

also why is it on teh series 3 engins you dont have to do either? what is the difference?

i replaced teh sump gasket in me vn years ago, but i had to remove k frame as i was redoing all teh front end anyway and made up a support to hold the engin etc....worked dam good but very time consuming and needed a wheel alighment anyway

if you have an engine crane just pop the engine of the mounts and can try it that way. i did it like that on my vr it worked but was a pita to do not much room to get a spanner in and it damaged the rear main seal doing it that way

Iv done a few sump gaskets on vp,vr,vs. I have always pulled the engine out and did the rear seal at the same time and cleaned all the oil and stuff off the engine etc. Not hard to do if you have the time and patience and right tools and of course know what your doing etc..

I don't know if it is any different on a 6 or an 8 but I can't even get a socket on most of mine in the car to nip them up, let alone remove the bolts.
You must have more patients than me.
