okay im in the bussiness of buying a supercharged calais, i can pick it up for 5,700 its in immaculate cond and has 170kms on it with full service history, its owned by a 50 year old woman but my concern is it was used for towing by an owner before her, (it had some electronic brake system where you can make the brakes harder or softer) im a bit scared that its put a bit off stress on the engine, and also she reckons it uses about 11l too 100kms around town and 9 on the freeway, sounds a bit too good to be true too me.

toeing will put only considerable load on the trans, engine wont be the issue. Its a sc6 anyway, itll be fine in that reagrds.

Onld people are stupid, they sell things for stupid prices, just buy it.

Have someone look over it, i would be a little paranoid... If the trans is buggered i would still buy it, it costs about one and a half grand to rebuild a tranny, so that would make the car cost say 7.5 grand... thats still 4 grand under what most VS SC go for.

My car was originally used for towing by my parents and the only problem was the transmission overheating. This was fixed by putting a transmission cooler on it. I have never had any problems since I have owned it.

    yet another VS
Yeah i agree with Grennan. Even if the tranny crapps itself, get it rebuilt and you will still come out on top. Just get a mechanic or someone who knows what they are talking about to check it over and if its good, i would jump on that deal. As azk said, old people probly dont know what its actually worth.
