    VS Statesman SIII 5.0 V8
    Hi All,

Very much a novice when it comes to this, but I have a VS V8 (Auto) Statesman which the engine is good in, but the body is very much gone (no damage, just had better days).

I would like to transfer the engine/transmission, (diff as well?) to another car (more of a pet project rather than something productive).

    Got a few questions:

    - Can the K-Frame out of the statesman (VS) fit directly into a VP Commodore? I would think since they're the same chassis it should fit right in?
    - I'm thinking I'll have to install the entire drivetrain, save for the tailshaft, and get a V8/Auto tailshaft to fit. Does this sound about right? I know the VP isn't IRS, so will I even be able to fit the drivetrain/suspension from the VS into it?

The VP I'm thinking of is a V6, so I'd need to replace quite a bit, but as I said, this is more of a pet project to spend my time.

Any suggestions on the best way to go?

Yes to all of those. You will need to take all of the loom and ECU. Suspension won't swap, but you won't need it. Can swap the diff centres if you like but they will both probably be 3.08.

Tailshaft wise all you should have to do is swap the front of the VS shaft onto the rear of the VP shaft.
