Hi guys, I'm looking at upgrading the front brakes on my vs to some vx ss items, I have the whole front assembly (struts, lcas, brakes, hubs) from the vx. I was told that I would need new rotors due to offsets on the rotor but I was wondering if I could just change the whole front hub assembly instead of buying the correctly offset rotors

Probably easier to just by new rotors, DBA make them to suit this conversion i think the part number is #040B

Just keep in mind you need to upgrade the brake booster as well or you will have pretty bad pedal feel. Most people just go VE brakes now which don't require it.

If you're thinking about changing the entire thing (knuckle and all), you'll change the ackerman angle and ruin your turning circle as the VX has a longer wheel base.

I just did the VS to VT caliper/booster conversion. Markovr is the man to talk to about it. Would assume VX would be similar. My setup works great with a bit of fab work to the booster mount and the hole in the pushrod. 150% better then the VS standard setup. VE setup requires a caliper bracket bought/made and special rotors where as the VT/VX just needs hub rings and all bolts up to VS standard hubs.

Better to run the proper rotor (they do make them I ran it on the clubby) then using (in my opinion) dodgy rotors with a hub ring.

when i done the brakes on my VS i kept the original booster and master and had braided caliper hoses made up for the front and rear including the center on for the diff housing (live axle) instead if the rubber ones, i never had an issue with the original v8 that was in it

but, since fitting my new motor in it. it feels a bit more spongy compared to my VY, but it also could be that i havent driven my VS in a few years. if it keeps doing it i'll look into the booster/master upgrade

Where can you buy a complete front ve brake conversion from though? I would be keen to switch mine if it is bigger than the 298mm vt setup AND has a firmer pedal. I have a UPC setup currently.
