Too many
He's in NSW but speak to Shiftrite, builds some killer overdrive boxes including 4l60e's. He runs a 6L80 in his Big block Tonner and runs in the 9's with it.

Another thing I was told by many I cannot do is run more than 14 psi on a maf well 15 is low and 20 is high have run 25 but no grip on 205s 98 octane stock ecu only have 36 lb injectors and I modified a ebay fpr800 from 1:1 to 4:1 rising rate so mixtures are crudely adjusted by fuel pressure and a idle air bypass also full factory bolts graphite gaskets I slightly reduced compression by relieving 5cc off each quench point in the chambers when I ported the heads and put 130lb springs in plus top ring gapped I've got a stack of dead pistons usually a lean out or too much boost for stock valve springs I've also got a home made mechanical/ electric high boost extra fuel input or a 7th injector but uses a fuel solenoid off the rail to a 3 needle nitro rc carby actuated by a wastegate actuator and emission nazis need not reply my injection and lack of catalytic converter is not the planets biggest problem

So you have proven you can run more than 14psi by adding extra fuel via crude tuning methods. If you had it tuned properly you would find the MAF would be a limiting factor.

I would suggest you familiarise yourself with the forum rules. If you don't want people to comment about suspect mods I suggest not putting them on an open forum to begin with. Just saying.

As for the trans, a stock high mileage trans is always going to be suspect when putting a lot of extra power through it, once they start to slip it's toast. The 3rd gear on these is a bit weak from the factory, the whole trans tune is set up for comfort, not performance unfortunately.

Thanks I'll give em a call Monday and see what they recommend it's got to be better option than shift kitting stock boxes my next requirement was converter but this trans won't take that for long after all 1st Gear is the only gear that I've still got that doesn't suffer

can i suggest putting in full stops capital letters at the beginning of sentences to help understand where a sentence ends and a new one starts so it makes it a lot easier to understand what you are on about at the moment the whole lot appears to be one big long sentence with no start or finish to determine what you are on about also you mentioned that you are in south burnett are you saying that all the trans builders around the bundaberg childers gin gin area have no idea on how to build transmissions back 25 years ago when i lived in bundaberg trans and motor builders were plentiful and knew what they were doing due to speedway and drags being very popular however because i no longer live there i have lost contact with all the decent ones but would be able to find out the names of decent ones having relevatives in the car scene that live there so names of places you have tried would be beneficial

also you being a mechanic/fabricator you should be aware what is the best option for the purpose you intend using the car and should be able to modify that transmission to cope with its intended use most mechanic fabricators i know within my state know how to modify their parts to suit their application

now the big test is whether you can undestand this post because your posting is exactly the same as this one big sentence with no start or end inbetween sentences

Well thanks for your input mortality I'm new to this internet thing and will watch what I say after all I'm looking for a variety of opinions and welcome them all and just to let you know that with 36lb injectors at 85 psi fuel pressure and 20 psi my maf hits 14000 kHz while still able to be flexible with afrs I can go from 10:1 to 13.5 under wot just by playing with my regulator system my extra injector is only active over 30 psi when I use nitromethane this was a $ 300 dollar ute and chops vf gts when I had $150 dollar Chinese turbo now its bigger and has more top end its being built bit by bit every week it changes but I drive it daily tune build and fab everything in a dirt driveway so I don't need to be told it's crude I know it is I've also got a 400 kw rb25/30 no expense spared but it stays in storage the cams and balancer in that cost more than the vs in total after its first 13 sec pass and yes agreed factory 4l60 is designed for comfort but I have removed the accumulator springs ect with the shift kit so no it's not tuned for comfort now

That is very odd as the stock V6 MAF only goes to about 10,000hz and the bigger limiting factor is the Holden tune which is limited to 256G/S of airflow.

Sorry mate,I don't bother with punctuation while typing off a smart phone! and I spend most of my time with tools and grease and reality! I'm not a poet or a philosopher ffs I finished grade 9 but 20 years in this game I've learnt be good with motors not words, so sorry bud thought this site was for car enthusiasts and if u want a good read vc commodore go get a book! This industry is constantly changing and new things come and old ones go and the more u learn the more u understand so more opinions more better. Moving around from state to state from and swapping jobs from automotive to small engines to haulage and cranes to marine to automotive u have to keep ya cup half full and ears open and of course I know what needs to be done to this thing It needs a1400 kw 3.2 7075 2jz and Lenco with a trio of s800s and haltec but in reality I'll just do bit by bit constantly adding and picking as many brains as I can I intend for this ute to run a 10 or 11 for Under 5k

Your right on that typically 10000k sorry usually the injection correction is only around 20percent and that would typically be pig rich just by upgrading injectors and pressure but I have 2 maf air bypasses one for idle and the other is only active over 2 bar of boost and bout 350whp most regs run 1:1 mine is 4:1 so it has very low pressure at vacuum and rises a large rate with boost and as crude as it might seem reliability drivability and fuel economy is on par if not better than most stock Ecotec and it idles smooth and quiet and plain shits on most that wasted their time and money at a dyno shop especially when they come out here 600 m higher than on the coast all of a sudden all that time on the rollers wasted

I'm a car enthusiast myself (currently owning 9 cars)...I live in reality, whereby having sentences often help decipher what the issue is and how it can be solved properly.

Yes the industry changes (having been a wheel aligner/tyre fitter/front end specialist for 30 years) but having sentences helps people understand what the heck you are upto and helps give the answers you might need.

If you've been in so many jobs, you should have a good base to draw from, to achieve what you need for the price your after...Or are you just saying this to beat your chest? Being a smart alex won't get you anywhere...

Now if you can mention places around the Burnett you have tried, I can then ask relatives I have in the car scene around Bundaberg of places they recommend...After all, I lived in Bundaberg inbetween 91 and 94 and still have relatives around the area and they are still in the car scene...

After all, I have been in the car scene for decades and have built up a lot of contacts throughout the country and am more than happy to pass on any information to help people save a buck where possible....And it hasn't come from being a smart alex like your trying on with me

Around Brisbane or Toowoomba would be handy,my go to auto guy has been out of the game for a while and I've had some issues with other vehicles with a shop here so I'm fishing around as much as I can. Didn't want to sound like I'm beating my chest but if you had just switched from a phone with buttons to an apple I phone then get corrected on everything from crude Engrish to dodgy tuning, plus touch screens hate my fingers forgive me for being abrupt or getting off point but all advice will be taken. I am well aware that I don't scroll through an extra screen to find a dot or apostrophe every time they're needed! and also well aware that this dodgey graveyard l36 built on a dirt driveway is just that but with a hidden rear mount gtx and some lil tricks after several phone calls to different auto specialists around here and mixed results in forums most don't seem to take it seriously, but there's more engineering and custom work on this bitsa than a lot of cars with 50k thrown at them,it's made not bought, the next motor is either going to stick with stock ecu and see how far I can bend it, or haltec or to piss every one off a blow through demon and another turbo so the next box has to be a good one,I was hoping to find someone that's experienced with the Toledo box from a vy tonner or the vs one Same same but different and not someone convinced that the ol rattler 350 they built 20 years ago was as tough as they get.by the way that's a generic insult aimed at certain "auto specialist "that no one has recommended thanks all!
