Hey everyone I have a 1999 series 3 vs ute solid axle rear end with a factory lsd which is terrible!
I’m needing to find open centre internals that will fit inside my diff so I can mini spool it.

Will any other model commodore diff internals fit my ute or does it have to be from a vs ute or wagon??
Thanks in advance !

Get a true track from Harrop
Not wanting to spend $1500.
was thinking a cheap open centre and a $100 mini spool. Just need to know if a vt-vz open centre would fit inside my lsd housing for a solid axle diff

No unless it's from a V6 model (VT-VZ) You want an open center from VN-VS model as they all used the same diffs.

I am unable to find an open centre from a vn-vs anywhere,
Sorry I’m confused. So will a v6 vt-vz open centre fit inside my housing ?

They should VN to VS + VT s1 use a BW75/78 diff center for all models, from VT s2 onward the V8 models got the BW80 diffs but the V6 models continued on with the smaller BW75/78 diffs.

The easiest way to identify compatible diffs is by the gear ratio. BW75/78 will use 3.08 ratio gears where as BW80 diffs will have 3.07 or 3.46 gears fitted.

It will likely be cheaper to find a complete axle from a VR - VS ute than trying to pay someone a few hours setting up a new centre in your housing. By the time they shim it up you could easily be in for a four or more hours labour. Not all early utes got the LSD only S pack in the V6 tended to get them.
