Hey guys,
I was just wondering how straight forward a swap it would be for me to put a 5 litre in my vs ute. What can i retain from my v6 ( it's manual), and what'll have to be changed altered. I'm able to get my hands on a complete wrecked 5 litre ute.
I've tried searching and nothing came up so i thought i'd ask the question.

Regards Matt

Its a wonder nothing came up this question is asked atleast once a week. If you can get a complete wreck then you are sweet to go as it will have everything you need. K frame, motor box, wiring, computer. Just rip the 6 out and swap it all out for the 8. Generally speaking No the V6 manual cant be used on the 8.

Why can't the v6 manual be used? I heard it was the same box.

It is, but its a different motor. So different bell housing and different input shaft. You can change these things if you know what your doing and you can get another bell housing for a reasonable price. Thus generally speaking no they cant be used on an 8, but if you got the time the bits and the know how you can do it.
