Hey guys, I've got error code 66 and I've checked the solenoid compared to a brand new AC Delco one that I bought, they both read the same resistance (23 Ohms).. The guy that I bought the new solenoid off had in the ad "Will fix code 66" too, but I'm not sure it's gonna do squat. I also have error code 32 which is the MAF sensor, I bought a new one last night and put it in. Last but not least, it keeps blowing fuse 12 which controls the transmission and MAF, why is this happening? It happened whilst I was driving last month in Footscray (Previously drove fine from Warrnambool for 3 hours, everything was checked over by a qualified mechanic before we left. I had to drive to Coburg in "limp mode" since that happened) It has to be fixed by Friday night, otherwise I'll just have to drive it in this condition to the train station.
The VS wiring diagram shows that the fuse 12 supplies power to the following trans parts- 2-3 control solenoid, solenoid A, solenoid B, and TCC solenoid, so any of these could be causing the fuse to blow, the workshop manual says that code 66 is a 3-2 control solenoid fault, is that what the new solenoid is for? Id be going over the transmission wiring and connectors etc looking for shorted out wires, same with the MAF sensor wiring. The fuse number 12 will cause both trans and MAF codes to log once it blows.
I did replace the 3-2 shift solenoid yes, I also did heck all the wiring around to see of there was any shorts but it seemed all fine. Same as the MAF, the connections are fine and the newer one that I bought read a lower resistance when I checked the connections. Off to Repco for more fuses and transmission fluid. Alright, it's all back together, it threw no error codes when I checked, just need to drive it to make sure (can't since I'm a learner and my sister doesn't have her license unfortunately).
