Hey guys, just wondering how to fix a code 32 error on a v6, the car started running hot at the lights and it feels like the handbrake is on whenever I take off. Sent via iPhone 4 using Tapatalk.
Code 32 is - air flow sensor (out of range). Id check the MAF wiring and the connectors, and if theyre ok, try fitting another MAF sensor to see if that makes any difference.
I've checked the connection and it's all okay, I can't try another one because I'm on the side of the road in Footscray. We've done 260ks from Warrnambool this morning and only stopped once, it got a full service last week too and was checked over by the mechanic before we left. Sent via iPhone 4 using Tapatalk.
Try clearing the code and resetting the system by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a minute or two. Were the cooling fans coming on when the temp started to go up?
Can't do, the terminals are too tight and I don't have a ring spanner on me. Sent via iPhone 4 using Tapatalk.
Sorry for he late reply. I done that but that was a no go, checked the codes again and it changed to 32 AND 66 (2-3 solenoid?) Driving through Melbourne to Coburg was not bloody fun. Sent via iPhone 4 using Tapatalk.
It sounds like the trans is going into limp home mode. The VS workshop manual says that when in limp home mode, the trans will default to using drive and second gear, first gear can be selected manually, overdrive (4th) will not operate. Id shift it through the gears manually so it doesnt try to take off in second or third gear, which will problably cause excessive heat and wear.
I drove it from Footscray in limp home mode manually shifting the gears from 1-3 but only got gears 2-3 the whole way. Sent via iPhone 4 using Tapatalk.
Okay, so I got a way to take the negative off the terminal to clear the codes and it was a success, just need to drive it with a supervisor now to make sure its all okay. Thanks for your help Brett. Sent via iPhone 4 using Tapatalk.
