VS wont Start

Hey Guys,
The ignition barrel broke so I have been using a screwdriver in the bottom of the switch.Now that stopped working and wont start.Tried jumping the relay and the starter turns.Had a flat battery so I guess it would start.
Would I be right to assume the bottom of the ignition switch (where the 4 wires are) is cactus as I couldnt find 12v under the relay on 85 or 86 with the ignition on.
All help apreciated as next step is a tow to the sparky

The key has to be touching the metal contacts around the ignition switch to disarm the immobiliser.Is the key in the ignition?

Yes the key was in the lock.Is the purple wire on the ignition switch the feed to the relay as I was getting no voltage on it when the ignition was turned on.
