Hi All, Ive got a 1997 VS. Now....I bought it off my neighbour who got it off her brother-in-law and I can't get much history on it. Sorry I don't have a picture of it. The strange thing about it is that it is badged XU6. I thought the XU6 started with the VT. It is brown with the silver grill and skirts. The VIN indicates that it is an SS or S model. The seats have "Sports" on them. If it was an SS or S would it not have SS or S on them?? It also has 5 spoke alloys similar to the VY SS and the spare as well. The centre cap on the wheels is the HSV style Holden Lion. It goes like the proverbial out of a shanghai with about 250k on the clock. The funny thing is that I was on a bike ride with my son one day and low and behold I saw one exactly like mine at a servo. By the time I got there the car had gone. I had always thought it was rebadged or something until I saw the other one. (Still not 100% sure) Did Holden do a prototype or limited edition VS XU6 or something as it is the last in the build of the VS's before the VT came out. I've tried doing some research but know one is able to shed any light on the subject. Any Help would be appreciated.
MY daughter has the car while her's is getting fixed. I will try and get her to send me some pics and i will post them. I thought about it being a mockup as well. But after seeing the other one exactly the same at that servo kind of startled me a bit.
There is no such car ever made no. Is it super charged V6 or what ? Motor only came in stato and Calais either way.
No it's not super charged. Just a 3.8 ecotec. But its got some serious power for as far as i know a stock engine. In this model, were the SS's the 5 litre and the S's 3.8 litre ???
A couple of years ago a mate of mine had a VS S 3.8 and it didn't have the grunt this one's got. Even the mechanic my neighbours went to when they had it said it was unusual.
Never thought of a dealer pack. Excuse my ignorance but what is BT1 and 9C1 Yeah as i said it's at my daughter's place but i'll get her to send me some pics and ill post them. Bugger, with these suggestions, now you've got me going on this even more. lol
Hey mate! Yeah alot of ex police cars are BT1's or 9C1's that means cop it says that on the model number on the id tag. Now when they went of the force car yards brought them put stickers and bars on them and changed them around. Post a few pics up of the intirior extirior and tags. If you need more help pm me i am glad to help. But i honestley think its a dealer pack. Under the drivers side carpet they have a build sheet pull it out and me and sheerer or 88greenvn will be happy to decode it for you But yeah do abit of a search and you shall find more info! With the power i'd say you've got a chip in it for sure, i chipped my Vs just after i purchased it. It's woken mine up big time, heaps of torque & definitely put's a smile on my face :yeah:
