That pump could have been seized or poling yet still make noise.

If you cracked a line should have anywhere from 40 to 60psi in lines not dribble out.

Over time ethanol content gunks up or pu.p dries out...longer car sits unused more issues can happen with fuel plus car has unknown history so don't know if it ran before or already had issues.
Before I buy a new pump or anything is there a recommended process for cleaning out the tank and lines etc? Also I only cracked the line at the rail and fuel came out (this was with nothing turned on) I didn't undo and disconnect the line entirely just wanted to check if it had fuel there, also what cc injectors do you run in a stock 304? I don't actually know if it's stock, it has a pod filter and extractors but dunno if the internals have been modified like cam or anything

Well that's the thing I don't know, all I do know is that the fuel pump primes and there's fuel pressure at the rail but whether or not it's sufficient I have no idea, so I come to the forums and ask the experts coz I haven't had a 304 before
What gauge do I need and where do I connect it to test?
Fuel pressure test with a gauge that reads the correct scale at the hose that joins the rail, best you utube it or get yourself a service manual etc

There are a lot of "donno's" there, forget about whats what and do yourself a favour and test things before you start aiming the parts cannon at it.

Have you put any fresh fuel in the car? If you are trying to start it with old fuel, which could have been in the tank for who knows how long, that could be your problem.

I did put fresh fuel in but could have been gunk in the bottom of the tank, might just have to drop the tank and give it a good clean, might be a good start

Tank is plastic so good clean should be fine.

Try doing other tests first try find what is faulty.

Thought vt have metal clips at rail? Unlike normal hose & efi hose clamp that vn to vs all had.
