    Yo,

The VT hasn't had air con working on the car since purchased. The air con light displays on the dash but the compressor clutch never engages.
I read somewhere I think it might have been in the factory VT book that if it's out of refrigerent or something else, the compressor clutch won't engage. is this correct?

Anyway, I figured I had to see first if the clutch would work by "hot wiring" it directly. Don't stress guys, even the manual says to do so if it isn't working. So I got my hot wire kit including fuse and took the battery cable off and plugged it in and the clutch engaged like it should.

What would I need to do now? Any other tests I could do? If this is all good then do I just need to pay an auto elec for a air con service? I just don't want to take the beast there have get charged a hundred bucks for re gassing and then have them turn around and say it will be another $300 to fix another problem.

    Cheers.

I think regassing and trying it out would be the only way to see if it works. Is there any gas in it at the moment.
Because the A/C hasn't been used for some time you may need to replace some seals as they tend dry out if not used. That's why they recommend you run your A/C about once a week ( or something like that) to keep the seals lubricated.
