gonna try and get this sorted before summer hits.so i had my air con working then a hose puffed up really bad.

the hose was changed out and brand new o'rings installed.the rtx value brand new,and brand new receiver dryer.

it worked for a little while then no cold air,i used a uv light as i had dye put it and basically i have a green engine.

kind of looks like someone painted it with glow in the dark paint.

so the aircon button light turns on and when i press it i can the compressor switch on but no cold air.

it mainly leaked out of the air compressor and the hose that attaches to the firewall.

so do i just need to replace the o'rings again and gas it or is the air compressor not working properly ?

It seems that the o ring seals where the hoses connect to the compressor don't last too long, I'm forever replacing them. As a matter of fact mine needs replacing again, I usually do it myself but last time (about 2 years ago) I got the air con specialist to change it just in case I was doing something wrong, but it's leaking again.

Last VT i had, all the aluminium pipes became porous. The gas leaked through the pipes lol.

ebay seems to have good package deals when I did mine years ago and hasn't missed a beat since. the newer l67 daily however needs the o rings replaced so thinking of doing the same and just replacing the seals for now. Do the o rings need any sorter lube when installing them? I know the system self lubes them while its working but that's about it.

To the OP u also have the evap core which is possible it could be leaking too but u wont know unless u pull the Hvac unit out to check for dye in it and replace if needed which isn't just a couple hours job, u will need to set almost half a day on this job. If ur going to attempt it, do the heater core too while ur there if it hasn't been done already.

Yes, I buy them form the auto electrician who services air cons, but still I keep replacing them.

Do you give them a coat of oil before you install them?
I forgot to do that when I replaced the o rings for the fuel cross over pipe and a couple of weeks latter they leaked.
Dunno if that applies to the A/C o rings or not, but it's just a thought.

They reckon you should run your aircon every week to keep everything lubricated, even your aircon(s) at home.

I'll be looking into these kits on ebay. I picked my VT up for $700 to drive around for a few months while I fix my Nissan Patrol. Dead ZD30. Now saving for a V8. I don't the coin, so I'm stuck with the VT, so I'm slowly doing bits and pieces up.

    Cheers,

    Lionel
