Hey Everypne! i Recently bought a 99 VT calais and last night about an hour after i got it home the alarm went off.. i thought this was someone trying to break in BUT in the hours since around 10pm it has gone off 5 times!! most rebently at about quarter past 8. The previous owner never had this problem... so any ideas on what may be going on ??
The previous owner *says* they never had this problem. Have they any proof? Next time it goes off, count how many times it flashes, like when you lock it you get 2 flashes I think (something I look at everyday can't remember :S). In your owners manual it will tell you what type of break in has occurred, then you can narrow down the fault. Could be a dodgey door trigger or something. Check the flashes and get back to us, we'll take it from there. As this sort of problem is the most common. One small thing: Is the alarm aftermarket?
