Power button just leaves it each gear a little longer (changes at higher revs). Use power button when towing.

The power and economy button just changes the shift points of the transmission.

Power mode: Gears drag out a bit longer at higher revs.
Economy: Gears change quicker at lower revs.

It doesn't really make much difference, but you should probably use power for towing/city driving and use economy for highway sort of use.

Series 1 VT's are more problematic, in saying that, most VT's are a pain in the arse anyway lol.

I always thought it was for highway driving. Like a 5th gear to use less full.

    Silly me.

all cars have problems, VT's are widely known and most problems are cheap and easy to repair.

my VTII I owned for about 3-4 years in that time I replaced a starter (wasn't 100% necessary but starting was a little sluggish), a relay and an ignition barrel and nothing else other than oil, filter and air cleaner (ie normal service stuff). Most owners will report a similar amout of small, easy cheap repairs especially if the car is correctly serviced and looked after.

The better you treat her the better she will treat you. Mines been neglected for way too long. Finally doing some major work on her.

The best thing about them is that they are common. Replacement parts are cheap, mechanics know how to fix the problems faster, and with a few tools you can fix a lot yourself with this site and a service manual.
