I'm interested in this for my Statesman
I have read the VT Brake Upgrade Thread on this forum but it doesn't say to replace Master Cylinder and Brake Booster to the VT one?

Should I replace both or just Master Cylinder? Will it be ok if I just replace the Master Cylinder Only?

NAAF sells the VE upgrades, means you dont need a bigger master cylinder.

You dont have to do the master cylinder. The brake pedal is longer but the wheels lockup before it hits the floor. Although the rear brakes will work harder and could get you into trouble if you slammed the brakes on around a corner.

You need longer brake lines made up. Can buy them pretty easily.

Dont buy the "Kits", its a rip. Get the calipers from the wreckers $30, discs from an auto shop and the lines from wherever.

I have heard that you have a spongy pedal if you keep the standard master cylinder.

I have checked out the kit on ebay its a total of $655
which includes:
Twin Piston Calipers (If I can buy these cheaps as $30 then i'll go to the wreckers)
Vented Rotors
Brake Pads
Custom Brake hoses
Shim Adaptors

But like IBLOWN says... I'll check out wreckers first. I'll just have to buy the hoses and shims through ebay

What's NAAF? I haven't heard of the VE Upgrades before on the VR-VS... so how come you don't need a bigger master cylinder?

A NAAF is "Not An Abba Fan". Site member. I believe you don't need a bigger master cylinder for the VE conversion due to the piston size in the caliper.

Last time I phoned a wreckers for VT calipers I was told $100

^ ^ this is true. ^ ^ Both are twin piston calipers, but the pistons in the VE calipers are a smaller diameter than what the VT-VZ pistons are.

well I have sent a PM to NAAF for more info on the VE brakes (no reply yet).... Is it basically the same as VT Upgrading

the shims the same?
the new hoses the same as getting custom ones for the VT upgrade?
so VE Rotors?

PM answered.

Basically the VE spec kit is VE calipers and pads, special rotors to suit the VR-VS to match the hub and caliper offset. Comes with the correct lines.
