Hey my VT Calais is making a Rattling noice that i cant seem to locate anywhere it seems to be coming from the pulleys (loudest point). It gets louder as soon as i put into a driving gear including Park but when its in neutral the rattling seems to be very faint... Can anyone plz help me out here? Cheers.
I just had a near identical sounding problem fixed. Turned out to be harmonic balancer. Good luck with it man.
Sounds like it could be a worn coupler in the charger, the rattle comes into it after couple of secs of idling then disappears soon as you rev/take off?
Well i know the rubber on the harmonic balancer is a bit torn? and yeh when i take of it seems to run smooth but during idle it rattles like a diesel :/ But yeh when i take off and im driving at a constant speed its completely silent..
Heat shield between the started motor and exhaust manifold? Mine came lose and was flapping around for ages but the sound resonated all through the exhaust and the rest of the motor so It took me ages to find
Il have a better look today at the heat shield because it does sound more of a rattle to me, but i have also heard both being a common cause in vts :/heat shields and harmonic balancers... Cheers guys.
