the ac button and have fan on you know turn ac on and off? with engine running read my other posts~! for how to know if its working
also on these the a/c compressor
has a front plate which will only start spinning if ac engaged (switched on)

as before if button okay then likely to be a leak or low on a/c gas either way you need to get it pressure tested by specialist/mechanic with a/c tools/gauges

i had the engine running and i pressed the a/c button, there was no noise or any change in the temperature of the air.
But when i pressed the demister button seperately, i could hear in the air vents something moved.

So should i change the compressor?

VT Commodore Airconditioner Not Working

Hey guys,

Im new to this forum but ive spent a while looking around and i havent seen an answer to this question, if there is then i apologise.
Im fixing my dads vt commodore, starting with the air con. When i turn it on the fan works fine but i just get normal air, theres no cooling.

This leads me to think there is a problem with the refridgerant (possibly a leak) or the compressor. I know its illegal to take out the refridgetant but does anyone know where the A/C unit is located ?
And any ideas on what may be wrong?

Mate, helpful info (if just a bit untimely) but could you please use paragraphs.

Walls of text make my brain hurt.

Paragraphs are not required. If it makes your brain hurt don't attempt driving your car let alone trying to fix it.

Geez mate, calm down.

For your information I replaced my own compressor and dryer quite well thank-you.

And if your system has lost all its gas than you should replace the dryer as it takes very little moisture to kill it. Why skimp out for the sake of a $20-$30 part?
