im not sure if this is the right place to ask, but im thinking of buying a Series II VT Commodore, the only issue is the glovebox is broken, it sits in fine but once you try to open it it falls off, any ideas of replacing it? costs involved? thanks in advance
Nope its not there, just an empty hole on either side, im guessing thats bad? :bang: if there is no pin to hold it would it be expensive to get a replacement put in? would the dash have to be taken apart? Kind Regards
When fixing my car i had a broken one also, I bought one from the wreckers, And had my repairer do it, I just couldn't come to terms with doing it, I found it to hard. And yet i have replaced most of my dash myself, And that stuffed me up.
If it is the right hand side that hangs then it just a matter of replacing the plastic pin. It couldn't be too expensive. It is very easy to insert a new pin, nothing needs to be dismantled.
i had the same problem its a rubber knob thing.take the glove box out and you should notice a rubber thing missing on the right side
The glovebox is two pieces screwed into one,if pins are broken then buy a new one and replace it,its that simple. If its broken where it fits into the dash then that part is avail too.It takes a bit of work to change but far from difficult. Both those parts i mentioned will cost you about $50 from Holden.I needed to replace them when i got my VT,just be careful refitting the glovebox as the pins are fragile.
