Hey Guys,

Was just wondering if this was true.
If u hit the roof on the passenger side door, and central locking opens, u pull the mud guard on passenger side off and there's the central locking cords there.

Not sure if this is true or not.

Cheers

Sounds like urban myths to me.

The roof thing was a fault on series1 VS's, and there was a total factory recall. I thought it was complete bullshit until my mate showed me, the roof ended up getting a few dents from over-enthusiastic people haha. The point of it was that in a roll over accident the doors would unlock, but it has been recertified.

Never heard of the second, but would be very doubtful.

VH 253 :-)
I stripped a full vt wiring harness out a while ago.

The central locking, speakers, power mirror and power window wiring goes from just below the kick panel, up INSIDE the car behind the kick panel and strait through the door jam into the door...

never leaves the cabin, the only wires that go into the guard are side indicators and power antenna wires...

Hope this helps :)

"Sorry officer, I was curious if a myth I read about on the net was true... I wasn't trying to break into it though..."

^^ What he said, there are no wires behind the mudflaps... they are all inside the car.

all of these things are simply myths, for example the hitting the roof over the passenger side did work on VS models until the recall like tom_1569 said.
the passenger side mud guard and wheel arch removed just shows the top end of your suspesion, wiring to your secondary horn and headlights and the wiring if you have power antenna. no central locking wires are there.
