I have bought a 1999 VT commodore which is all stock. I went and rang a car joint and asked for a good exhaust, they said a cat back Lukey would be loud and sound very nice. he quoted me $300 to $350 fitted. am i getting ripped off? i thought it was quiet good but am not sure if it will be LOUD enough for me. I am also looking for a decent set of Mag wheels for my car, only 17s, nothing to fancy i was wondering if someone could tell me a good place to go, i want to spend around $400 on the mags, little more, little less. any help would be apreciated fellas! thanx.
You can get a redback cat back on ebay for around $180 from scott's rods. $400 for the mags? i'm not entirely up to date with mag prices but it seems you are limiting yourself severely.
Oh ok. which exhaust do you think would be louder? I know i am limiting myself on the mags, but i dont want enything to flash in that department as i drive on dirt roads alot and dont want flash wuns as they will deffinetly get scratched and sh!t.
If you don't want flash ones, just stick with what you've got? will be cheaper on tyres too.... I would go with the redback mate, they sound quite good as far as V6's go.
yes but i have standard rims! with caps i just want some mags which are about 17s and nothing shiny and flash, just so it doesnt look like a granny car! My car cuts out at 180, i was looking at chips on ebay which take the limiter off. they are only $35, do they actually work?
70km/h over the speed limit. So no sugestions for the mags? looked on ebay but noone will post May have to save up and buy a good set i gess. any ideas on how much id be looking at to get mags which are painted black?
hmmmm just look around for some vt SS wheels or something ive seen em around for $600 maybe need new tyres or something as for black rims... if u wanna spend $1200 ++++ for brand new black ones then go ahead... thats wat im getting anyway for mine =] haha ummmm thers been heaps on them chips - some say they're terrific - some say they're useless but i myself have no personal experience with them so maybe just search around the forums here there's been heaps of threads or just keep asking around eventually u'll get an answer goodluck cheers

I have some nice WH Caprice rims on my car, but for 280 i got 5 WK 17" Caprice rims off eBay with new tyres. Just keep looking and you will find them. Patience be the key, me bitches. As for chips, they dont usually get rid of the limiter, just increase power/fuel usage etc etc.
I got a set of vr senator alloy wheels on ebay. They are in your price range of about $350 - $450. they are 17 inch, 5 spoke alloy wheels and i just love the look of them. Have a look. They are not made anymore, so you don't have to worry about everyone having them on their car...[cough] senator 19's....
