    Hi Peoples.

Some of you may have seen my other posts about a shake that comes in at about 120 KPH. It's not a real problem as I rarely get to that speed - but when I do it's on the 110 KPH freeway section that runs for about 60 km north of Brisbane.

Anyhoo - I'm having the gearbox rebuilt today, and while the propshaft was out of the car, I thought it was a good idea to do some research on propshaft bearings.

3 different people - including 2 driveline specialists suggested that lowering the car, changes the input angle of the prop shaft into the center bearing. This can lead to it wearing out prematurely, or being damaged when you give the driveline hell.

So I'm getting the bearing replaced. Quick straw poll - hands up those who experience high speed driveline shake (not low speed) who have had there beast lowered ?

By the way - New gearbox specs. 4l60e -
Full needle roller bearing conversion, 'Beast" standard ratio stall converter (furnace brazed and thicker vanes). Heavy duty band set. Transgo stage 2 shift kit. Corvette billett servos. Remapped shift points (+300 rpm for first and second). removed rev limiter. $2100 plus whatever is spent on the propshaft.

South Pine Automatics, Brendale - Brendan is the guy's name. I found him friendly, the price is competetive, the parts list is long and strong. Ill report back on wednesday after i get the car back, and then after it's been run in.

Brendale is on the north side of brisbane - strathpine area.

Hey cool a cheap rebuild. I've been looking around and have been quoted between $2500-$3000 for a rebuild, shift kit, and new stallie. I might hve to check these guys out.

About the prop shaft though, this IS the one between the trannie and the diff right? Becuse I can't see how the angle would change as the gearbox is boltd to the chassis and the diff is bolted to the chassis and as far as I know lowering the car doesn't change this.
