Like everyone else probably, My drivers seat cushion has collapsed on the right hand side on th ebase. Ive already swapped out this seat once and lost my Drivers side airbag, now the cushion has gone again and I'm wondering what the hell to do.

Ive had one seat repadded and it lasted about 6 weeks. The seat I swapped in was an SS which had better sides but the base still sucks.

Is there a better tougher later model seat i can swap in that ideally retains the drivers side airbag, but gives me a better seat ?

    Cheers

I have heard the VY seats will fit (confirm this)... also the VX

Not sure if they are better quality. I've never had an issue with my VX seats. Yet I am a light weight guy.

Disable the air bags the same way you would if you were removing the steering wheel. It's then perfectly safe to remove the seat.

sorry I dont know how to remove the steering wheel.
    is it the disconnect battery.
leave 30 mins and then pull the seat out but never turn the ignition on while the seat is out ?

thanks new to owning a vt commodore.
