UPDATE SORRY! Since this time the engine in question had spun a bearing, however it did run good for a bit, the problem was bad fuel from some BP around SA.

Youtube video to showcase the noise and trouble.

Really not a huge amount of ideas left.

This issue only became noticeable when i replaced my motor mounts recently.

- Have had a look around them for anything i pulled out of place... nothing.
- Replaced the spark plugs and ignition leads with brand new, no dice.
- Replaced my alternator because it was charging at 13.00 volts without load. Still running like dog sh*t.
- Checked intake for obstructions and leaks - found none.
- Replaced fuel filter - wasn't the problem.

EDIT: Since starting this thread I have tried;
- Cleaning MAF sensor with CRC MAF cleaner... no fix
- Checking multiple times again for anything i messed up while doing the motor mounts - still nothing.
- Cleaning throttle body and butteryfly (both sides) no change.
- Cleaning all areas on DFI and coil packs with no success.
- Checked with load and idle - with and without serpentine belt on car - didn't change

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Pull the serpentine belt and run the engine and see if the noise goes away. It doesn't really sound like a balancer from the vid but its worth trying.

No change or completely unoticable change. problem remains, thanks for the idea though.

Check for air leaks, maybe you disconnected something or a hose cracked when you changed the mounts over.
Definitely sound like it's starving for something.

Checked everywhere again for air leaks and found none. Unless it's leaking from the manifold; I don't have a smoke machine.

Things i touched were;
-- Oil pan (jack up engine)
-- Sensor connections & wires near oil filter
-- A/C compressor - still works fine
-- Trans cooler lines

It only does this when I open the throttle suddenly, Doesn't happen when you gradually open the throttle.
Gets alot worse when its at op temp and you can feel it kicking on idle.

Pinched a fuel line somewhere?

Vacuum leaks you just use Start Ya' Bastard to diagnose and listen for the change in idle.

Was happening before i did my fuel filter so cant be the ones at the back, even though i did clamp them. (rubber parts not hard lines)
Will check under bonnet too but leaning towards ignition coils or DFI at this point.

Also if you turn the A/C off the problem is virtually non-existent but that is not an option on 38-42 degree days.

Don't have access to a scan tool and no engine light.

I think I remember the hard lines running pretty close to the transmission as they start to go from the engine bay to under the car, so if you jacked the engine up enough or over enough in one direction there's a good chance you've crimped one.
