Hello there im new to the Just Commodore Fourm, I have a quick few questions to ask refering to my Exhaust system

I just recently brought a 2.5" Dual Hurricane Cat Back Exhaust

Which means i have to take out my stock cat and headers, I've been looking around everywhere for a setup simular to the V8 extractor system
How the Extractors are flanged at the bottom and the cats are also flanged so its a bolt on bolt off job. I heard that high flow cats 100cpi can only last up to 3 years depending on how you drive
thing is i dont want to have to keep taking the whole system off if the cats are welded in.

Is there a company that makes the extractors for the V6 VT that come with cats that can be bolted on

I thought the V6 headers bolted onto a Y-piece, with the cat welded to the Y piece, and then the cat-back simply bolts on to the outlet side of the catalytic converter. So you simply leave the Y-piece with attached cat, and bolt everything into that. Otherwise you'll probably need a new y-piece to accomodate bolt on cats. If you're good with a welder, you could possibly cut the cat off, weld a flange onto the cat end to match the catalytic converters you want, then Bob's your uncle. However it will possibly make the whole system slightly longer/shorter, but you could always make a spacer or cut a bit of the piping off before you weld it all in.

They might even make a new Y-piece which already has the flange.

Unless I misinterpreted what you're asking. Maybe somebody who knows exhausts a bit better can offer some advice.

Nobody does headers and cats that bolt straight up to the V6 for a twin system.

I did one not long ago that is pretty close, Wildcat extractors and V8 cats, then the system will bolt to that. But you will have to cut the front flange off the cats and have a short piece made up that goes between the extractors and cats.

$995 shipped for the extractors and 200 cell metallic cats that will last longer than 3 years.
