Vt gearbox problem

Hi i have a problem with the gear box in a vt v6. Its holding first gear till its close to red lining once its in 2nd there no problem at all. Theres no sleeping or anything like that. Fluid level is fine. Any ideas please

it will b a sensor. proberly the vehicle speed sensor .
