So it's not the first motor i've pulled apart... Is the first VT heater fan motor though. Just happened to have 1 lying around....
Took me less than 15 minutes (would take me longer to get to a wrecker), there's a shield on the shaft at both ends to keep crap out of the bearing so a quick strip and small amount of grease should get a noisy motor quiet again.
Worst part was getting the fan off, do it carefully as it may be brittle (damn plastic) and i used a small piece of wood as a drift to knock the shaft thru as it was stuck on quite well.
Watch your fingers putting the guts back in, the magnets will pull it in with some force.
You may need to find some foam to replace what's around the plug as age will have taken it's toll.
A piece of polystyrene cut carefully with a serrated steak knife should do the trick.
