    Hey.

my VT is dead the key turns to the on position and stays there (it does not click back )and nothing happens, no dash lights or starting noises, but the battery seams fine
any advise as to what this is would be much appreciated

How do you know for sure the battery is fine?

Have you checked the leads are connected tightly and there is no corrosion around the terminals as a starting point?

    hi thanks
I've checked the terminals and cleaned them still no action, the thing with the key not clicking back is funny, I have a wreck the model before for parts and it has a dead battery but the key still clicks back.

Do the headlights shine brightly when switched on high beam, they will be a lot dimmer if the battery is flat.

You sure its not the tail of the ignition lock broken off in the switch, I replace a few of these although they normally break when its in the ON position

I think that bj42turbo has hit the nail on the head.Your ignition lock has almost certainly broken.
