He Peoples. My VT V6 has a gearbox issue. I think the overrun packs have failed somehow. When manually selecting gears 1/2/3 there is no engine braking any more. Behaves normally in Drive. It kinda sounds like I'm up for a rebuild and people are quoting around $1900 for a rebuild and $280 for a transgo stage 2 kit as well - this is a fitted price, in Brisbane. Sounds a bit dear. Is this a fair ask or should I hunt around some more. Does anyone know where I could find a better deal by chance ? Cheers Andrew
Mate it would be easier to get a reconditined transmission from somewhere like City dismantlers (a wreckers) and get that fitted but if you want the transgo stage 2 kit then go for it BUT Shop around always shop around.....
Depends on what's included in the rebuild.for that price I would hope it had the beast reaction carrier and maybe a roller shaft conversion. Don't forget the written warranty
