    hey guys i have a vt 3.8s factory (l67)
my iac valve has chucked it in however i have tried to install 2 new ones but everytime i start the car the pindle extends all the way and falls out.then the next time i go to start the car it can't get any air flow to crank over.
lost for ideas accept for maybe the ecu is telling it to open to far?

If the pindle falls out then it must be too short which means it's the wrong IAC valve. I assume you are saying that it falls out when installed.

did you disconnect - power before remove/ refit. If you didn't ive herd it can create issues. You can disconnect -, remove/refit part then reconnect after 30 min past as it should recalibrate to possition/reset to my understanding.

even after the battery method still shooting out in the chamber i believe that the one i have is to small as the old one will only pop out if the iac screws are left undone so have cleaned that one up and and regreased will try it when the car has gone cold again

There's a fat and skinny tip iac you are probably using a small tip one in a big hole

yep sometimes it pays to be specific when obtaining parts from non gen suppliers for example. It's possible a procedure is required once fitted to set iac position also. From memory l turned ignition on then off before starting to set iac on a ls1 then once started the computer recalibrated its function. But it may not be relevant to your application. I dont have any written data to support this either.

the ecotech sets the iac valve at key off
first start will be a bit eratic
after it warms up, key off ,next start should be fine
