Hi, I was trying to run the power cable for the amp today, but couldn't find anywhere to push it through into thesis cabin, anyone know the best place to look? Thanks

Don't have a VT, but isn't there heaps of room on the top edge behind the rear seat? Crap, not sure how to explain better. Pull the rear seat out (pull up on the front of the seat, 2 clips - sorry if you know this - others might not), and undo the bolts at the bottom of the backrest (there were 2 in the VN, I think 4 in the VE), lift backrest upward. There should be heaps of wires from the side sills going up over the wheel arch, heaps of room. Might need to remove a fair bit of trim in the boot. Not sure what yours is like, but mine now has a friggen amp/sub box making it extremely hard to remove - which is a pita as I'm doing wiring again and would have loved to pull two bits out. I can take a pic of where my wires go through if you like.

For that exact spot last night I ended up pushing some clear hose through as it was hard to reach when you're too lazy to pull the backrest, sub, trim etc out. Then could just drop the wires through that easy and pull the hose out from the other side. Or being more sensible I like using a really huge zip tie, cut the knobbly bit off and taping that to the wire, feed it through fist and pull the wire through (good for door/boot rubbers and behind the dash if you don't want to risk using fencing type wire to feed it through).

Hope thats what you were after

Clutch cable grommet, driver's side near the BMC.

Into the cabin, remove the sill panel and rear seat, run it through the cabin and into the boot following the factory loom.

Be sure to insulate the cable through holes or use grommets.

Actually hadn't got as far as getting into the boot haha still can't get it past the engine, didn't have a huge attempt but thought I'd check first.

At least I now know the next stage :)

Yeah, I forgot all about the firewall bit. But that clutch cable grommet should be quite good for the job and reasonably easy to access. I think the VN even had a grommet closer to the brake booster, but that was more years ago than my memory is good for (& a diff car). Don't forget to try and keep power and sound wires (ie. speaker wires/RCAs) apart as much as possible. I'd put [h/u -> amp] wires on the opposite side of the car to the power. No idea if you can run it up the trans tunnel and keep it hidden. Would even keep it well away from the [amp -> speaker] wires then. Any people with thoughts on that idea?

theres even a hole in the fire wall on the passenger side just behind the kick panel. if not clutch cable hole is your best bet.

Perfect way, thank you for your help. I did however loose the grommet so will have to patch it up somehow any ideas?

I have a feeling this isn't going to be easy, now have to wait for the torx screws I didn't have haha.

Hopefully it will be worth it

Which grommet? The one for the door wiring or the one behind it?

I wouldn't be too concerned about it.
You could get another one. Wouldn't cost much. Autobarn, Repco or Bursons should have something that would fit.
Or you could just bog it up with silastic.
