When you say manifold and top end bits, does that mean heads as well, or what? A bit more info would help.

You'll need a different K-Frame, Gearbox, Tailshaft, Fuel Pump...and then answer the question that Ian asked.

yes heads come with it its running in a car at moment but he will be taking group a manifold of it so k frame needs to be swapped out for a vt engine. cant i just change engine mounts

It can be done, but there are benefits to using a newer K - Frame.

Use a vn v8 k frame and vn v8 steering rack, gives a hell lot more pipe clearance.
If you use a vh k frame the headers hit the rack and sump.
Apart from that use vn headers and its a direct bolt in.
Also you need power steer lines etc and it moves the powr steer and alt
opposite sides to a vh 308.

ive jus rebuilt my vt 5.0lt and its not the cheapest, my brace that holds the lifters in broke! good luck finding another 1 if it doesn't come with it other wise youll have to buy the t-bar lifters which are $700 plus! cam lifters and all the other stuff are through the roof aswell and I got all my parts at cost price..
what exactly do you mean minus top end bits?

what cam does it have?? that will determine your manifold and carby selection. If its a decent solid roller cam youll need a single plane or if its a mild hydraulic roller just a good dual plane intake such as torque power and the likes
im guessing you will need a electric fuel pump, reg and some fuel line..depending what you've got.
its not as simple as you'd expect.

whats in the car atm? ie box, engine ect
