Hey lads, looking at buying a sedan roof spoiler most likely this one:

PU Plastic Rear Roof Spoiler SUN Shade Wing FOR VT VX Commodore 4 Door Sedan | eBay

Wondering If anyone knows what the go is with fitting these, I have read in some places that they are affixed with glue but still unsure. also would it be recommended to get a panel beater to fit it ?

if anyone could shed some light that would be great!

They're urethaned to the glass.

They're fitted with automotive double sided tape, directly to the rear window. Easy job, just make sure you line it up carefully, clean the window well and in cooler weather warm the tape up.

ah sweet thanks guys. Does the urethane and or the double sided tape come off pretty easy if the spoiler doesn't suit ?

If it's urethaned it was done by hacks and no it won't come off easily. With the tape it's easy enough using a tinting knife, heat gun and care. Had to rip them of regularly when tinting rear windows.

Question: Why do you say that? I was contemplating the plastic one over the fibreglass ones because I figured it would be more of a guarentee of a correct fit given it would flex more than fibreglass. There's no way I'm paying $600 for a genuine one so copy in plastic or fibreglass is my only option.

Because automotive tape is more than sufficient to attach it and leaves it in a completely removable and serviceable state, with a even gap away from the glass surface. It's also how the manufacturer does it.
